It’s Sunday! And, as it happens, almost my first full week of blogging! So far, I’m enjoying this new adventure in my life. I love talking about books, but I have a much easier time expressing my feelings with writing rather than talking. Mostly because I am an awkward turtle and terrible at articulating myself well. That being said, you would think I would have gravitated to blogging sooner! As it is, I’ve still got a LOT to learn, but I’m enjoying the ride, so far.
But books are only a part of my life, though quite a large part. I thought I could use Sundays to not only recap the week, but talk about things other than books. With that in mind, let’s take a look at this past week!

Life Outside the Blogosphere
This past week was a pretty quiet one for me, especially compared to the prior week! The week before last, I went to a book signing and to see RENT and, though both were thrilling, I was SPENT by the the time Friday rolled around. I’m not used to leaving my house for things other than work and kid functions.
This week has proven to be much more relaxing. I spent a lot of my down time figuring out this whole blogging thing. And reading, of course. The only mildly exciting event was signing up for Disney+, lol. I was like a kid in a candy store as I scrolled through all the movies and shows they have to offer! ESPECIALLY when I found out that they have all the episodes of Gargoyles on there! I loved that show when I was a kid and, on my next day off, I fully intend to binge the hell out of it.
My husband and I did do a little Christmas reconnaissance at one of the local malls. We ended up finding a ton of stuff for the kids and having no earthly clue what either one of us wanted! Pretty typical for us, tbh. We also tend to buy things we want when we want them, as long as it’s in the budget. Case in point, we’ve been wanting this board game, Betrayal Legacy, for FOREVER and we ended up buying it while we were out at the mall, heh. Ah well… we’ll just say it was an early Christmas present.
Next week will begin the shopping/planning for Thanksgiving! This will be our first Thanksgiving in our new city and my husband, who recently got into cooking, wants to cook a full Thanksgiving meal. Typically, we would go visit family, but moving cross-country is hella expensive, especially when you’re moving to a place like Boston! So we’re keeping it low-key this year and just cooking ourselves a family meal. I might try out a new dessert… I love baking, but don’t do it as much as I used to! Any suggestions for a fall dessert I could try out? I’d love some ideas!
Song of the Week:
I went on a random Pentatonix binge this past week and re-discovered their cover of Say Something. I cannot stress enough how much I love this cover. This cover has water my crops and cleared my skin. It gives me chills, y’all.
Factoid of the Week:
Jim Henson made his first Kermit puppet using his mother’s old coat and two halves of a ping pong ball.
Well, that’s all for this post, folks. I hope this coming week treats y’all well!
And, as always, happy reading!
