Another week has gone by and it’s time to start anew. This past week was rather chill compared to the prior one, which I enjoyed! Especially considering we have a major holiday coming up next week. But, before I dive too deep into that, let’s do the weekly wrap up!

Life Outside the Blogosphere
This past week consisted of a lot of last minute grabbing of things and picking up packages, lol. We don’t live near family anymore, so a lot of the kids’ gifts come in the mail. There was one day where we had 4 packages to pick up at our Amazon Hub. Four! Still, I know the kids are going to have a great Christmas and that always makes me happy.
Most of my week was taken up with work, but I do have one bookish thing to shout about:
I FINALLY FINISHED THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO!!!!!
Y’all, I’ve been reading that book since *checks calendar* JULY! I honestly don’t know why it took me so long to listen to it. I think seeing that 40+ hrs on the audiobook just threw my brain into a do-not-want mode. It was a good book, though. Great, if I’m being perfectly honest! Classic revenge drama with an immensely satisfying end. And the narrator gave me chills at times, he was that good. So I’m glad I finally muddled my way through it because it ended up being completely worth it!
I’ve also been on a bit of a graphic novel binge. I read The Tea Dragon Society, Pumpkinheads, and The Prince and the Dressmaker in quick succession and absolutely loved each of them! Now I want to get my hand on even more graphic novels. It’s a genre I tend to skip over and now I realize I’m probably missing a ton of great content!
What else, what else… Oh! The family and I made Christmas sugar cookies today, which was a big hit with the kids. I love to bake, but I’m also completely anal about it, so it was interesting cooking with the kiddos, heh. But, you know what? I really enjoyed it! Just another sign that I need to let loose a little more often. I did, however, include a lesson on cleaning up after yourself which they were way more enthused about than I would have been at their ages! All in all, it was a great day.
Random Stuff
Song of the Week:
In keeping with my Christmas theme from last week, this is another one of my favorite Christmas carols. I grew up Catholic, what can I say. I also grew up in the 90’s so boy bands were A Thing and this ended up being my favorite version of this song. It’s so much more wistful and melancholy when compared to the original.
Factoid of the Week:
“Jingle Bells was written for Thanksgiving, not Christmas.”
Alright, everyone, I hope you all have an amazing week. Oh, and if anyone has any suggestions for a great graphic novel I should check out, let me know in the comments!
And, as always, happy reading!
