Book Blogger Hop: Dec 27 – Jan 2

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!

This Week’s Question

My one and only bookish gift this year was the one thing that I really wanted: a Kindle!! Due to an ordering snafu, I still don’t have it in my eager hands, but it’s on the way to me as we speak!

When e-books first became A Thing, I was slow to jump on board. I love a physical book. I love the feel of it in my hands. I love physically turning the pages. I love the smell. I couldn’t see the appeal of e-books, so I was never interested in getting a Kindle when they first appeared.

As the years have gone by, though, I’ve seen the errors of my ways. E-books are just so damn convenient! The ability to have thousands of books at my disposal in an easily transported device just cannot be denied. I think what really tipped me over the edge was becoming more active on Netgalley. With so many e-ARCs to read, I’ve been reading a lot more e-books lately. Previously, I had the Kindle app on my iPad, but I also have an ancient iPad. It’s a bulky little bastard and that screen glare is no joke. I’ve been suffering in silence but looking at Kindles on the sly. My husband caught me browsing one day and was probably super excited that I actually wanted something for Christmas, lol.

I can’t wait for it to be in my hands and to play with my new toy!

Did you get anything bookish as a gift this holiday season? Any suggestions for a good e-book I should check out? Let me know in the comments!

And, as always, happy reading!
