In Other Words #9

Another Sunday brings another week to a close. Or a beginning, depending on how you look at it! This has been a weird/exciting week which has resulted in me not posting as much as I tend to. I promise to get back on the ball this week! For now, though, let’s take a look back at last week.

Last Week’s Posts

I know… I know…

Life Outside the Blogosphere

So we kicked off our week with our littlest child coming down with an illness. He was coughing, had a sore throat, and a fever of 102.9. I was suitably freaked out. We spent all of Monday and Tuesday hanging out in my bed, resting, and drinking LOTS of water. He was pretty much all better by Tuesday night, which was a good thing because I needed to get back to work! I’ll always put my family before my job, but I’m also currently the only one working in our household, sooooo… Mommy needs to make that coin.

You may be wondering why the husband couldn’t stay home with the kiddo if he’s not working. Well, that’s because he just got signed up for college! He had to do placement testing on Monday and had all day orientation on Tuesday. He’s very excited as he’s been wanting to get back into school since we moved here. He starts after MLK Day and I’m so proud of him!

On a sadder note, though, and another reason that this was a weird week, my supervisor at work, who had been out of work almost since I started at my current job, lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday. It’s been very somber at work, of course, because she was really loved by everyone at work. From my limited interactions with her, she seemed like a wonderful boss and really genuine and caring. I’m sad that she’s gone and I’m sad for my co-workers who are clearly devastated.

What else, what else? Um… I picked up another library book?

I have a problem, okay?!

I’ll have to do a library haul this week because the stack has gotten quite ridiculous, lol. I just love that our library has such a variety and so many books that I’m interested in but not enough to break my book buying ban. Still, I am supposed to be focusing on my owned TBR… yeaaaaahhhh… February will be the month! I don’t have any ARCs that will be releasing in February so I really can focus on reading books off of my TBR bookshelf. I am pretty stoked that I’ve already read 5 books, though. Last year, I only read one book in January! 2020 is off to a great start!

Random Stuff

Song of the Week:

My husband started a new Skyrim playthrough, so the soundtrack has been running through my head all week. Which is fine, because it’s awesome. Jeremy Soule is the king of game soundtracks.

Factoid of the Week:

“Dolphins intentionally chew on toxic pufferfish to get high.”

I hope everyone had a great week and an even better week to come!

And, as always, happy reading!
