The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
Well, this is an easy answer: FANTASY! I’ve been in love with the fantasy genre since I was young. If I find myself in a reading slump, my go-to genre to pick up to try and break me out of it is fantasy. An overwhelming number of my favorite books are fantasy! It will always hold a special place in my heart. There are certain fantasy books that I like more than others. You can look at my latest TTT to see what aspects I generally enjoy the most, but will especially love in fantasy.
That being said, I have made a conscious effort in recent years to try and broaden my horizons. Though I love fantasy with all my heart, it can get a little… dull when all that’s all you read. In branching out, I’ve discovered new genres to love: sci-fi, thrillers, historical fiction.
And my exploration continues! Now I’m checking out adult romances which, I’m ashamed to admit, I had written off as not for me without giving it a fair chance. I’ve now read two recent romances and am in the middle of a third and I’ve loved (or am loving) them all! This is why it’s good to keep your mind open when it comes to books. You never know which book might be your next favorite.
(Well… it’s good to keep your mind open in general, but this is a book blog.)
Anyways! I hope I continue to discover new genres to explore, but fantasy will always be home ❤
This week’s BBH question was an easy one for me to answer, Kerri, considering my blog is packed with reviews for paranormal romance and urban fantasy books, I don’t think it’ll come as a surprise that my 💜 favourite 💜 reading genre is adult PARANORMAL ROMANCE! 😘 Luckily there seem to be so many books out now that crossover genres that I haven’t got bored yet! 😉
I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, Kerri.

I’ve more recently gotten into romance, but I haven’t ventured into the paranormal romance realm since I was in college! I might have to revisit sometime soon 🙂

The lines separating the reading genres has definitely blurred over the last few years: I’m sure you’d find one to recapture your attention. 😘
