Top Ten Tuesday
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish back in June 2010. It is currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and, as is stated on the blog, it was “born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.”
It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday and the topic this week is a creative one! For this TTT, we have been tasked with making a list of authors with a fun social media presence. Which is funny because someone on Twitter had asked this question a few days ago, so I’ve actually been contemplating this question quite recently. I don’t know if I’ll get up to ten, but there are definitely quite a few authors I follow that are a gift to the internet! So let’s get into my list 😁
#1. Margaret Owen
Margaret Owen is the author of The Merciful Crow, one of my faves from last year, and she is hilarious. She also isn’t afraid to speak her mind about social issues, which I appreciate!
#2. Ryan La Sala
Ryan La Sala is a freakin’ P R E S E N C E! I will fully admit that I bought his debut, Reverie, solely because of his Twitter. He is fun and sassy and it really makes me want to read his book!
#3. Angie Thomas
I love Angie Thomas and all of her books. She is one of my auto-buy authors, which is why I started following her on Twitter. I wanted to know when her new stuff was coming out ASAP! Turns out, she’s pretty fun on social media, as well, so win-win 👍 She’s also very outspoken on social issues, which, again, I love.
#4. Elizabeth Lim
Another one of my favorite books last year was Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. I enjoyed the book so much that I decided to check out the author’s social media. Y’all, Elizabeth Lim has some beautiful Instagram posts! I love when she posts cause the pictures are just so aesthetically pleasing. She seems like a pretty fun person, too.
#5. Katy Rose Pool
I distinctly remember seeing the cover for this author’s debut, There Will Come a Darkness, and immediately following her on Twitter. Thankfully, she is quite fun to follow! She’s got a sarcastic humor that meshes very well with mine.
#6. Rebecca McLaughlin
I read Nameless Queen back in January and just loved the tone and voice of it. Then I read the acknowledgments and realized that the tone was very much due to the author’s dry sense of humor. I immediately looked her up on social media and followed. What can I say, I have a type 🤷♀️
Can you tell which social media app takes up most of my time 😂
Who are your favorite authors to follow on social media? Did you make your own TTT? Let me know in the comments!
And, as always, happy reading!
Ryan La Sala seems awesome!

He is so much fun to follow! He just posted a lookbook on Twitter for all the outfits he would have worn to all the cancelled festivals/tours and it’s amazing, lol.

OH MY GOSH! How did I forget Ryan La Sala? I actually heard about Reverie because I accidentally stumbled on his account, and he just cracked me up so much. I LOVE his personality. I’m proud to say that I’ve actually heard of all these authors! How often does that happen?! Hint: never. But for some reason, I never thought to look them up to follow on Twitter? xD Definitely gonna have to do that now. great list!
Here’s my TTT post.

When I started getting into the book community, I went on this crazy author following spree, so I follow a *ton* of authors, lol. Every once in awhile, one just stands out, and Ryan is definitely one of those xD Thank you!

He for sure does! He cracks me up, and I look forward to what he’ll come up with next. xD Some authors just do constant self-promotion, so I’ve been a bit picky about whom I follow. If they only talk about their book, I probably won’t follow them.

That makes sense. I’ve gotten lucky and pretty much all of the authors I follow talk about loads of other things beyond their books.

Angie Thomas has come up a lot on these lists – I might go and follow like some weird stalker!
