Top Ten Tuesday
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish back in June 2010. It is currently hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and, as is stated on the blog, it was “born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.”
We’ve come to another Tuesday and today, we are anticipating Spring! I’m overly ready for the warm weather, the budding plants, and the sunshine. And, of course, I’m ready for the books!
This Spring, however, is a weird one, with the coronavirus looming over all of us. It’s especially a weird one for any authors that have books coming out from now until June! So I decided to highlight those ten of those books for my TTT. I’ll also leave a link to their Indiebound pages, as well, because our independent bookstores need some love during this crisis, too 💕
Alright, let’s get to my list!

The City We Became by N.K. Jemisin
Publication Date: March 24th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
I have yet to read an N.K. Jemisin book, though they have been on my TBR for YEARS! Her newest book comes out next week and it sounds like it could be amazing. Cities with souls? I’m intrigued!

Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko
Publication Date: April 4th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
I’m actually currently reading this book and I’m loving it. It’s a tale inspired by African mythology and just the first few chapter are so beautifully lush that I can’t wait to dive deeper!

Bonds of Brass by Emily Skrutskie
Publication Date: April 7th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
I’ve mentioned this book a few times on my blog, most recently on my first Can’t Wait Wednesday. It’s sci-fi, it’s gay, and I can. not. wait!

Incendiary by Zoraida Cordova
Publication Date: April 28th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
I mean… just look at that cover! We know I’m a sucker for a beautiful cover 😍 I also love a book with political intrigue and rebellion, so this book seems like a clear winner for me.

The Life and (Medival) Times of Kit Sweetly by Jamie Pacton
Publication Date: May 5th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
This book sounds like it’s going to be amazing! A girl is fighting to be part of the joust at the local Renaissance Faire. It’s got knights! It’s got feminism! I’m all in!

The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar
Publication Date: May 12th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
Again, look at this gorgeous cover. And it is about cultural appropriation and sapphic love and I need it! It seems like it’s going to be a stunner of a book.

Beach Read by Emily Henry
Publication Date: May 19th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
I just recently found about this book and it seems like it will be in the same vein of the romances I’ve enjoyed lately. I’m still learning my tastes, but this involves a bookish element! It sounds like it’s going to be fun.

A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown
Publication Date: June 2nd, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
Publishers are really killing the cover game these days. Look at this beauty! And this is a fantasy that is inspired by West African folklore! The synopsis sounds like it’s going to be rather action-packed, as well.

Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles
Publication Date: June 2nd, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
This is billed as Phantom of the Opera meets Moulin Rouge and there is no way I was missing out on that! It sounds like a book to get lost in, which is what I’m looking for these days.

Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
Publication Date: June 9th, 2020
Find it on Indiebound!
The story of a trans brujo who tries to prove his worth by summoning a ghost, but ends up summoning the wrong one. There’s magic, there’s ghost, there’s romance… I wants it. *makes with the grabby hands*
So how is everyone doing with all this social distancing? What books are you planning to read during Spring to hopefully take your mind off things? Let me know in the comments!
Also, if you did your own TTT, please leave me a link! I love reading other TTTs.
And, as always, happy reading!
I’ve heard so many people talking about Incendiary, and I’ve decided to wait on that one (because … time), but I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks about it! It does have a gorgeous cover, and it sounds really good, too. I can’t wait to read Cemetery Boys, too! It sounds just perfect, doesn’t it? Hope you enjoy your reading, despite everything else going crazy around here.

I know what you mean about time. Sometimes, you have to prioritize! I’m so ready for Cemetery Boys. I think it’s going to be just incredible. I hope you enjoy your Spring reading, too! And hopefully the craziness will become a little less crazy soon.
