Book Tag: Disney Songs

The Disney Song Book Tag

Hello, readers!

As I was blog hopping and trying to think of what I wanted to post today, I stumbled across the Disney Song Book Tag over @TheBookDutchesses blog. Their blog is lovely and I always enjoy checking out their posts. You should definitely go check them out!

Both Candyce and Isabelle have done this tag and it looked like so much fun, I had to join in. I grew up on Disney and I still look back on movies like The Lion King and Aladdin with intense fondness. And of course I routinely belt out the popular tunes from all the old Disney movies! I just couldn’t pass up this tag! With that being said, let’s jump in.

Part of Your World – What book world would you change yourself for so you could be a part of that world?

Though I’m not all about changing yourself just to fit in somewhere, I would do some ludicrous things to be able to live in Red London! Especially if I got to hang out with Kell and Lila. Oh! Or if I could change myself into an Antari somehow and be able to travel between the Londons. I would be okay with that kind of change, lol. Either way, I think it’s such an interesting world and I would love to visit.

Let It Go – What book did you not want to finish because you loved it so much?

Uuuuugh, this book was just so good! I found myself setting it down when I was getting closer to the end. I knew it was going to be over soon and I just didn’t want it to end 😭 It’s just so gorgeously written and completely enthralling. You find yourself so wrapped up in Tarisai’s story and the turmoil in Aritsar that it comes as a shock when everything is over. Thank goodness there is gonna be another book!

Beauty and the Beast – What book do you think is/will be timeless?

I’m gonna steal both Candyce and Isabelle’s answer here and say the Harry Potter series. It’s just had such an impact on the bookish community and the world! I will always love this series with every bit of my being. I’ve written the author off as a complete loss… she’s said and supported things that I just can’t get past. But I still look back on these books with such fondness and I know they will be around for years to come. I’m just glad I still have all my old copies to pass down to my kiddos instead of buying new books!

So This is Love – What book were you hesitant to read at first but ended up loving?

I was so nervous about reading this book. I’m not a huge fan of poetry and I wasn’t sure how I would like an entire novel written in verse. I had heard so many people raving about the audiobook, however, so when I saw it available on Scribd, I decided to give it a shot. And I’m so glad that I did! This book was incredible! It hit me hard and left an impression that I won’t soon shake. It’s just gorgeously written and beautifully performed by the author. I loved it so much, I immediately read her newest book, Clap When You Land. Which was also fantastic, btw.

Friend Like Me – Which character would you like to be your best friend?

I feel like Zachary Ezra Rawlins and I would get along swimmingly. He reminds me so much of myself when I was in college! His love of video games that tell a story, his intense bookish ways, and his willingness to believe in magic. We could all hang out in the underground library and wander the many rooms, laying claim to our favorites for when we wanted some alone time. And Zachary would understand the need for alone time, another reason we would probably be great friends.

Reflection – What book really made you think/changed the way you viewed things?

I know what you’re thinking. This book looks like a fun graphic novel of some sorts. And lots of it is hilarious! Allie Brosh had a blog with the same name and a lot of the stories in this book come from there. But Allie also talks in-depth about her depression and her ways of coping with it. I think it was the first time I read such a frank and open account of what depression feels like to the sufferer. It is different for everyone, of course, but reading about her struggles really made me stop and think.

Well, that was a good time! And I only broke out into song once or twice… or several times! If you enjoyed this post and would like to come up with your own answers, consider yourself tagged! I would love to see what everyone else would say in response to this prompts. Drop me a comment or a link below!

And, as always, happy reading!
