Hello, reader!
It’s time for another catch-up book tag. I was tagged by the wonderful Jenny @ JenJenReviews to do the Behind the Blogger Book Tag way back in *coughDECEMBERcough* and have finally gotten around to doing it. Thank you, Jenny, for the tag! I’m sorry it took me forever to get to it π Jenny is one of my fave bloggers who not only runs a readathon with her partner (Trope-ical Readathon coming in March! Sign up here!), but created an amazing website called BookTriggerWarnings.com where you can look up content and trigger warnings (among other things) for numerous books! You should definitely give her blog a look π
Alright, now let’s get to the tag so y’all can learn a little about me!
Rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you (Thank you, Jenny!)
- Answer all the questions down below
- Pingback to the creator: Ellyn fromΒ allonsythornraxx
- Nominate 5+ bloggers youβd like to know more about, to do this tag
Questions:
Why did you start blogging? & Why have you kept blogging?
I started blogging on a whim, really. I was getting more and more into the bookish community and really wanted a place where I could contribute. Besides that, most of my friends and family aren’t into reading quite to the level that I am, so I wanted a place to just talk books 24/7 and, hopefully, not bore people, lol.
I’ve kept blogging because I was lucky enough to find a great group of bloggers that keep me encouraged and make me feel like a part of the community! I’m, of course, talking about The Write Reads gang! This group has been such a wonderful help during my first year of really blogging and I honestly don’t know if I would have stuck with it if it weren’t for them. They are supportive and fun and just the best π
What is your favorite type of blog post to write?
I’m a sucker for a good wrap up and those are also my favorite posts to write! I like taking a look back on my reading month and kind of reflecting on what I read. I think my second favorite post to write are reviews, even though I’m hopelessly behind, heh. Again, I like looking back at what I read and reflecting about what I liked and what I didn’t like. Some books are easier than others, but I always enjoy the journey.
What are your top three favorite blog posts you wrote?
Spoiler alert: these are all reviews π
What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?
Besides reading, I love to play relaxing games, like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. Something where I can kind of turn the brain off and live my best life, lol. I also like to spend time outside when it’s not gross and cold (is it Spring yet?). And, the ultimate relaxation, I do love me a good nap π
What are three of your favorite things?
- My husband and kids
- Our pets
- Baked goods!
What are your proudest blogging moments?
I was recently asked to beta read a sequel to a book I reviewed for a blog tour. That was a pretty big deal to me! I’m especially excited because I enjoyed the sequel more than the first book and that was just the rough draft. It’s a lot of fun working with the author, too, and I’m so honored that he thought of me when he was looking for people to help him out.
I was also pretty proud the first time I received a physical ARC! Living in the United States, I know I’m rather privileged when it comes to ARCs and it continues to make me so honored when a publisher or author sends a book my way that they think I’ll enjoy.
What are your hobbies outside of blogging?
Basically the things I mentioned in my “favorite ways to relax” section, lol. I love playing video games and board games, I love spending time outside, and I love baking! I don’t do nearly enough of the last one… the kitchen is typically my husband’s domain. But when I stumble upon a recipe I have to try, I love recreating it!
And now I’m suddenly in the mood for brownies π¬π
Describe your personality in three words
Kind, funny, and down-to-earth, I think. My husband and kids might quibble on the “funny” part. Mostly because they don’t appreciate a bad good joke!
What are your top three pet peeves?
- Mouth noises. I cannot stand when I can hear people chewing… most especially when it’s gum. People who pop and smack their gum make me want to tear my ears off.
- Close standers. Especially in these times of Covid. Seriously, mandatory six feet of separation is the best thing to come out of this pandemic.
- When people say “I seen it”. NO, YOU DID NOT. YOU SAW IT! I recognize this one is ridiculous (I mean, they all kind of are π ) but URRRGH.
Whatβs something your followers donβt know about you?
Probably a lot, lol. Um… I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences! With a minor in Life Sciences *nod* Clearly, I’m not doing much with it… though my degree did allow me to test for my Medical Laboratory Scientist certification!
Ugh. Mouth noises. Yuck. Slurping annoys me so much. Lol

I love to play Animal Crossing too! I haven’t gotten the Switch version yet, but I always found designing clothes and patterns in the 3DS one very relaxing and fun.
Great tag! I enjoyed reading your answers. π

I love it Kerri! My kiddos are big into Stardew. I am impressed with myself that I recognized a video game title. Lol. I am definitely not a gamer. β€οΈ

Great post! I loved reading your answers and thank you so much for the tag! π
Yay for Animal Crossing cos I’m still obsessed with the game even after playing for almost one year! I bought Stardew Valley but I’ve hardly played it and need time to get used to it I think (in terms of graphics and time passing so darn quickly in-game)?! I also loved baking and baked goods! And same with the pet peeves… Mouth noises and people that stand too close…. Just thinking about it makes me shake my head in irritation. Especially when those people don’t get what’s wrong when I give them stink eyes! Haha

You’re welcome, Dini π I hate it when my exquisitely honed stink eye doesn’t get through to people, lol. And Stardew Valley definitely takes some getting used to but, once you’re into it, it’s so easy to get lost in the game for hours, haha.
