WWW Wednesday: Sep 29, 2021

It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! This is a bookish meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words where bloggers answer the 3 Ws:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

If you’d like to learn more about any of these books, click on the cover to be taken to the Goodreads page.

Current Reads

  • A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik: This is the only book I’ve started since I’ve last updated y’all, though I don’t think I’ll be finishing it before the end of tomorrow. But it’s got the perfect vibes for going into October, so I guess it works! So far, I’m really enjoying the writing style and the world-building. It’s almost stream-of-consciousness, which I don’t usually enjoy, but I’m vibing with it right now. Hopefully I continue to enjoy it!

  • The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna: THIS BOOK WAS SO GOOD!! It was like reading a movie, it was so cinematic and detailed and just awesome! As soon as I was done with this, I wanted the next book in my hands 😂 I can’t wait to continue Deka’s story! You can read my full review here.
  • Willow Moss & the Lost Day by Dominique Valente: I read this with the Middle Grade Marvels group and it was such fun. It’s a fast-paced, whimsical middle grade that has a lot of great characters and some great lessons, as well. Oswin is definitely my favorite! I’m curious about the rest of this series because I want to have more stories in this world and with these characters. Perhaps I can squeeze them in soon!

What’s Next

  • Shadow Stained by Rachel Hobbs: I’m reading this as part of a The Write Reads blog tour and I’m excited to give it a go! It’s paranormal, with demons and dark relics and, ya know, the end of humanity looming. Which sounds like a perfect book to start of spooky season! I’m interested to see how I get on with this one as paranormal books can be rather hit or miss with me. Still, it sounds like it’s gonna be incredible!
  • Lord Edgware Dies by Agatha Christie: I was meant to have start this yesterday… 😬 It’s the Poirot readalong read for September sooooo… you can see that I’m a bit behind! But I usually can read Agatha Christie mysteries in a day, so I’ve got my fingers crossed I can fly through this one tomorrow. It’s another Poirot mystery and I’ve been enjoying them for the most part, so I’m looking forward to picking this one up.
