Parnassus on Wheels by Christopher Morley

I have no idea how this book ended up on my TBR, lol. It’s apparently a classic? It is a book about a magical bookseller, so it does hit one of my favorite tropes. It sounds like it could be a fun read and it’s quite short. All that adds up to this book getting to stick around.

This is a TBR veteran that has been around for a minute. It’s a desert fantasy that definitely sounds intriguing. There’s a young girl fighting t get out of her town, a mysterious stranger that maybe be able to help her, and ✨magic✨ Mix that all together and you get a story I definitely want to read.

Mrs. Sherlock Holmes by Brad Ricca

Imma be honest. I remember adding this book but I thought it was a historical fiction. Turns out it’s a true crime concerning a woman who upstaged the entire NYPD back in 1917 by solving an infamous cold case. Which sounds way more interesting! I’m glad I read the synopsis cause this one almost got dumped 😂

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

Look, I’ve been wanting to read this book for forever and that hasn’t changed. It’s sticking around until I finally pick this one up! I know it’s going to make me cry, so I gotta get myself in the right headspace. But, one day, this will get read.

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly

This is an easy keep. The story of the Black women mathematicians who helped NASA send men to the moon is one I’ve wanted to read for awhile. It just sounds fascinating and like a non-fiction I can get behind.

The Zookeeper’s Wife by Diane Ackerman

Here’s yet another non-fiction that sounds incredible! Am I going to become a non-fiction reader? … Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Still, this book about a couple that hides people from the Nazi forces in their zoo seems like something I would love. It’ll probably make me cry, too.

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

This book sounds incredible! It’s a multi-generational story following the lives of two sisters: one who is sold into slavery and the other the wife of a slave owner. I can only imagine the struggles and trauma that will be woven throughout this book. Which is probably why it’s still on my TBR… gotta be in the right mood for it! Still, I do want to give this one a try.

The Star Thief by Lindsey Becker

Well, this sounds absolutely magical. There’s a quest and the constellations come to life! There’s a girl with wings! I’m surprised I haven’t already read this, if I’m honest. Looks like this middle grade story gets to stick around.

Inferno by Dan Brown

Alright, I generally enjoy Robert Langdon books. I’ve only read two, but I loved them both. However, I still haven’t read the third one and I’m not sure if I’m still as much of a Langdon fangirl. So, until I’ve read The Lost Symbol and determined whether I still enjoy Dan Brown’s work, I’m gonna let this one go.

Okay. This YA sci-fi sounded like it could maybe be interesting. And then I took a peek at the reviews. There were so many DNFs from people whose reviews I trust. The synopsis isn’t intriguing enough for me to ignore that!
