#5OnMyTBR – Pink Cover

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook where you chose five books from your to-be-read pile that fit that week’s theme. If you’d like more info, head over to the announcement post!

Hello, reader!

It’s time for another 5 On My TBR and this one I really had to search my TBR to fulfill, haha. That’s because the theme this week is books with pink covers. I, apparaently, don’t have a ton of pink books on my TBR. Honestly, it’s mostly black/blue/white! But, after scouring my Want to Read shelf on Goodreads, I finally found five books that I’m eager to read and have pink hues.

So, without further ado, let’s get to the list!

#1. The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar

I’m a little mad at myself for having not read this yet. I was so hyped when it came out and then I just… never picked it up. I even pre-ordered it! But this sapphic story about two girls running competing henna businesses for a school project is something that sounds like I would love it. I’m going to have to make this one a priority in 2022!

#2. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Yeaaaahhhh. I’ve owned this book for, um, awhile. And I have had every intention of picking it up! It always seems to keep being pushed further down my list as other books (read: fantasy books) capture my interest. I do want to read this romance featuring the son of the President of the United States and a literal prince and I think the hype has calmed down enough that I won’t go into it with my expectations too high.

#3. A Phoenix First Must Burn edited by Patrice Caldwell

Though this one isn’t completely pink, I think there is enough of the color to count! This short story collection that stars Black people in SFF tales is one that I’ve wanted to read for awhile. I’m always hesitant with short story collections because the stories can be so hit or miss. And the ones that are a hit usually leave me wanting more! But I want to give them a try, I’m a big fan of SFF with Black main characters, so this seems like a perfect fit!

#4. Meet Cute Club by Jack Harbon

This book not only is wonderfully pink, but it sounds so adorable, as well! It’s a queer meet-cute in a book shop and one of the men runs a romance book club. Like, yes please! I don’t know why, but I’ve been really feeling romances lately, and this seems like it would scratch that itch really well. I haven’t heard a ton of talk about this book, but I’m hoping I end up loving it when I get to it.

#5. The Fire Never Goes Out by Noelle Stevenson

This is the graphic memoir for the author of one of my favorite graphic novels, Nimona. I bought it awhile ago because I’ve never read a graphic memoir before and it looked interesting! I also love Noelle Stevenson’s art style. I’m excited to pick this one up and see how this format works for a memoir. Seems like it’s going to be intense and right up my alley!

What are some books with pink covers that are on your TBR? Have you read any of the books on mine? Let me know in the comments!

And, as always, happy reading!
