Top 5 Tuesday: Series I Need To Complete

Top 5 Tuesday is a fun, weekly meme that asks you to pick 5 books that fit that week’s theme. It was created by Bionic Bookworm and is currently being hosted by Meeghan Reads. You should check out their wonderful blog for more details and the list of prompts!

Hello, reader!

It’s time for another Top 5 Tuesday! And this one is calling me out. Why? Because I’ll be talking about the top five series I haven’t finished and I am spoiled for choice 😅 I’ve found that I am excellent at starting series and… not so great at actually completing them. I partly blame this on having to wait for new installments in ongoing series. Mostly, though, it’s because I get distracted very easily!

But enough excuses. Here are my top five series that I haven’t finished but really want to complete.

#1. The Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

Before we begin, I know that there is a complete separate trilogy that is technically part of the Mistborn series. I am choosing to ignore it for now! Mostly because I finished the second book in this series years ago and still haven’t picked up the last one. I don’t know why, either! I love Vin and the world of Mistborn! And every time I pick up a Brandon Sanderson book, I get completely sucked in. I’m gonna finish it this year, I swear, and I just know I’m gonna love it.

#2. The Great Library series by Rachel Caine

This entry is actually quite embarrassing because I absolutely adore this series and recommend it all the time. Yet I haven’t even finished it! For this series, I think I’m just not ready for it to be over. I love the characters in this series, I love the world, and I’m not ready to say goodbye! Still, finishing this series is one of my goals for 2022, so it’s getting done this year. I know I’m going to love it ❤

#3. The Brown Sisters trilogy by Talia Hibbert

This is the only non-fantasy series on this list, but it’s definitely high on my list of series to complete. I loved the first two books in the series and credit Get A Life, Chloe Brown with opening my eyes to how much I could enjoy a romance novel. Chloe and Dani are wonderful, but, as a youngest sibling, I’m especially excited to read Eve’s story. Also, it’s a grumpy/sunshine romance, which I’m coming to realize is something I love!

#4. The Aurelian Cycle series by Rosaria Munda

This is a series that took me by surprise. I had an e-ARC for the first book in the series, Fireborne, which I started reading and put down for some reason. I can’t even remember why. When I finally came back to the book and finished, however, I ended up loving it! This is such a complex tale filled with political intrigue, drama, and dragons. I loved all the layers and the two main characters are incredible. I’m excited to continue this series.

#5. The Blood of Stars duology by Elizabeth Lim

This is a more recent duology, so I don’t feel as much shame for having not finished it yet 😂 Still, I’ve owned the sequel to Spin the Dawn since it came out in 2020 and have yet to pick it up. I really loved the first book, too! The mythology woven throughout the story is captivating and I thought the main character was fantastic. The way the first book end made me so eager to read the next one! So I’m not 100% sure why I still haven’t picked it up. See what I mean? Easily distracted!

Do you have some books that might fit this theme? Let me know some series you still haven’t finished but would love to get to soon!

And, as always, happy reading!

  1. I haven’t finished the Mistborn series either, and it’s so good! I have started the second book at least twice and put it down for some reason or another. I need to stop doing that.

  2. Some pretty exciting reads on here 😃 I still have to finish the Brown Sisters and Great Library series’ too. I don’t think I’m ready for both of these series to end! I hope you do enjoy all the books whenever you get to them!
