The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
Do you prefer to leave book jackets on or off while reading?
Submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer.
Here’s the deal. I know a couple things about myself. These things are as follows:
- I like to put random things in places that I know for a fact I will never forget. Ever.
- Once said thing is placed in said spot, I will always forget where that place is. Every. Single. Time.
I have lost so many things this way. Pens. Notes. Once, for a very long time, my passport. So if I have something like a dust jacket that has a place already (i.e. on the book), it stays there, because I know myself. I know that if I take it off and put in a Special Place That I Will Definitely Remember, it will be gone forever. Well… maybe not forever, but I definitely won’t be able to find it once I finish reading the book!
Couple that with the fact that I have a dog that, for some reason, loves the taste of paper and an 8 yo that loves to scamper off with any paper or paper-adjacent product he finds so he can draw on them… and I think you know how I’ll answer this question.
If not: Dust jackets stay on AT ALL TIMES. This is a house of chaos and they stand no chance otherwise.
