The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
Have you ever participated in a book tour?
Submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer.
Well, if you’ve been around my blog for any length of time, you’ll already know the answer to this one. I’ve done many a book tour! In fact, participating in book tours is one of my favorite aspects of having a book blog. Which is funny to think about because, when I first started blogging, I was so intimidated by the thought of participating in a tour. I’m not sure why, really. Possibly because I was so new, I figured who would want me on a blog tour?
But then I was approached by a couple of different blog tour runners: Dave @ The Write Reads and the folks at Storytellers On Tour. They were both looking for more bloggers to include in their tours and I thought, “Why not?” They both tended to feature the kind of books I loved to read and I was getting more comfortable in my blogging and reviewing process. So I took the plunge and haven’t looked back since!
The Write Reads will always and forever be my go-to when it comes to book tour runners. Dave has really built up such a wonderful community of bloggers and he’s just an all around nice person. He’s very flexible and understanding and, honestly, manages to get some of the best tours around! I don’t know how he does it, but I’m happy to go along for the ride. Sadly, Storytellers On Tour closed their doors last December, but I always had a wonderful time with them, as well. I love that both these runners feature a lot of indie published books, as well.
Other than those two, I’ve also worked with TBR & Beyond Tours, Hear Our Voices Book Tours, Caffeine Book Tours, and Turn the Page Tours. I’ve had a wonderful experience with every one of this runners and, though I’m trying to cut back on tours these days, I still keep an eye on the ones that are still going. I would work with any one of them again! It’s incredible the work that all book tour runners put in and I’m so privileged to be able to work with them and read so many great books in the process. So, if you’re a blogger and you’re on the fence about doing book tours, just know that I highly recommend giving them a go!
