The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
What is your method for writing reviews? Do you write immediately after reading, wait a few days, or write as you are reading?
Submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews.
Hahaha, this question assumes I am much more on point with writing reviews than I actually am 😅
Usually, my review writing process takes awhile. I should write my reviews as soon as I finish the book because my memory is pretty bad. I could five star a book and immediately forget the main character’s name as soon I finish the last page. Don’t even get me started on remembering specific plot points! Vibes stick with me the longest, but you can’t really write a review about ✨vibes✨… That’s why having a notebook to take notes as I read is so important for me! That way, when I finally get around to writing my review, I can be at least a little coherent.
Of course, I would love to be the type of person that immediately writes their reviews. That way I wouldn’t be as far behind as I currently am when it comes to book reviews. I have the best of intentions, I swear, but life generally takes those intentions and chucks em out the window.
Also, this question raises a question of my own. Who out there writes reviews as they are reading?! I’m not mad, I’m just impressed! Teach me your magic ways.
Right after I finish reading, I immediately post a (shorter) review of the book on GoodReads while my memory is still fresh, that way I can look back on it when I actually start writing the full review on my blog. I also tend to highlight quotes that sound important to me and ones that I might use for the post. But I should probably start taking notes lol

That’s a really great idea! I might have to start doing that so I at least have a basis from which to work.

Great post, I always have the intention of writing my review as soon as I’ve finished or at least have a rough bullet point summary to write off of but it never needs up like that 🤣
