The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Weekโs Question
Have you ever forgotten to post a review?

Oh yes, this has definitely happened. Quite recently in fact for a blog tour! I felt awful… I had the date written down in my calendar and everything. Somehow, though, I had convinced myself that the particular date was a Monday when it was actually a Sunday! I didn’t notice until I went to post my review and double checked my date ๐ Thankfully, it was only one day off, but I still felt bad!
Other than that, there are the stacks of reviews from last year (and the year previous) that I’ve not managed to write as of yet. I’ve gotten to the point where I should probably re-read some of the books before attempting to post a review! I don’t know what the mental block is when it comes to me and writing reviews. I always have the best intentions and, then, I sit down to write the review and I can’t think of anything to say. So I leave it for a bit, thinking that some time will loosen the writing wheels. And then I just completely forget to do it. By the time I remember, any coherent thoughts I had about the book have long flown the coup, unless I took decent notes. I need to get better at note taking, though, because a lot of what I write down can’t really be interpreted into a review… Like, what am I supposed to do with a note that simply reads “WTF JUST HAPPENED?!” ๐
I’m thinking the way I approach review writing will need to be tweaked in the coming year.
The ones where you can’t think of anything to say are the worst thing. That’s why I only post reviews for books that really inspire me to write a review and I write my Net Galley reviews as soon as I can. If I didn’t then they might never get written and my feedback rate would be appalling๐.

You know, that’s a really great idea. It’s so hard to write a review for a book that I liked, but really didn’t have strong feelings either way. And of course NetGalley. Trying to keep that ratio up ๐

I can hard relate to this ๐ Most days I feel like if I don’t write a review right away or at the very latest the next morning/day after finishing it, it’s like my mind can’t handle all the details it has to remember and I seemingly forget what I’ve read ๐ It’s such a pain sometimes! LOL

Lol, isn’t it? It’s like my mind immediately dumps all relevant information and doesn’t care if I’m going to need it later ๐ Like, let me have a moment!
