The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
Have you ever switched reading genres? If so, why?
Submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer.
Oh, on the daily 😂 Though I am and will always be a fantasy lover, fantasy is definitely not the only genre I read. And, sometimes, even I need a bit of a break. I consume so much fantasy, so many new magical worlds, that sometimes I need to switch it up so I don’t get burnt out.
So, when I feel myself getting to that point, I reach for something to bring me out of my fantasy bubble. Usually I’ll reach for a thriller or a mystery. I’ve also been enjoying romances lately. That is one of the many good things about genre-switching… I get to explore and find so many new books to love! I get to discover what I love and don’t love about all the genres out there! And that makes it easier to pick books for my TBR that I think I will genuinely enjoy.
Which, with the state my TBR is currently in, is a good thing! I really gotta start being pickier…
I primarily read romance and cozy mysteries but I’m always changing the tropes I read to keep things from getting boring!
