The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
If you receive a request from an author to read his/her book and you don’t have time, do you suggest another way to help the author?

This is a really good idea that doesn’t always cross my mind when I’m writing those emails saying I’m too busy 😅 I have a vague idea of how hard it is to be an author, especially if you’re an indie author, so I try to be accommodating when new requests land in my inbox. I am but one reader, though, with a busy life outside of the bookish world and, though I wish I could, I can’t read all the books. But it doesn’t always cross my mind that there are other ways to help promote a book!
I have offered to do spotlights or cover reveals before. Something to get more word about a book out there into the world. I mean, I don’t have that much of a reach in the bookish world, but I like to think every bit counts! If a book sounds great but I just don’t have the time to read it, spotlight posts are a wonderful way to help promote. Or, if I agree to read and it’s taking longer than I would like, doing a first impressions posts is an alternative until I can dedicate my time to a full read and review. If I really brainstormed, I’m sure there are lots of ways to help, even if I don’t have the time to read.
Now that this Book Blogger Hop has turned on the lightbulb, I think that’s what I’ll try to do from now on!
