This Week’s Question
Did Santa bring you any books?
Submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer.
Funnily enough, I didn’t get a lot of books for Christmas this year. I received a mini photo printer from my husband that I specifically requested because I wanted to use it with my reading journal. So… kind of a bookish gift, haha. Most of my gifts had nothing to do with my favorite hobby, though.
That being said, I did get a book from an awesome Secret Santa and my mother-in-law got me a Barnes & Noble gift card, which I used during the 50% off hardcovers sale to buy myself three books I’ve been wanting for awhile!
My Small Christmas Book Haul
- Strike the Zither by Joan He has been on my radar for awhile. I follow the author on social media and, whenever she spoke about this book, I would get more and more excited! So, when I spotted it in the 50% off B&N sale, I jumped all over it. I can’t wait to pick it up!
- Nothing More to Tell by Karen M. McManus is one of two of this author’s books that I have not yet read. The other being One of Us Is Next which I really need to pick up before the third book comes out. I already own that book, though, so I snagged this one instead. I always enjoy a McManus YA thriller and I can only imagine the same will hold true for this one.
- Nona the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir is a book I would love to pick up soon! I really enjoyed Gideon the Ninth, so much so that I purchased Harrow the Ninth the day it came out. Have a read Harrow the Ninth? Hahahaha… no 😅 But it was part of the sale! How could I say no? Now I’ll be prepared once I finally pick the second book up.
- The Thirteenth Hour by Trudie Skies is a book that I’ve already read and absolutely adored! So much so that it’s definitely going to end up on my top ten books of 2022… spoiler alert 😉 That being said, I read an ebook copy of it originally and I really wanted a physical copy to have on my shelf for forever. I was ecstatic that my TWR Secret Santa got this for me! And now I kind of want to reread it, haha.
Alright! That’s all the books I directly and indirectly got for Christmas and I couldn’t be happier about them. This was a great, chill Christmas ❤
