Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
What was the first book you read this year?
Submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer.

My first finished book of the year was one for a blog tour and, also, a five star read! Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute by Talia Hibbert was such a cute and fun story that kicked off my reading year just right! Perhaps I should always start my year with a light and adorable romance. Ya know, set the proper tone for the year. I could use more light and adorable moments in my day, haha. Either way, I love Talia Hibbert’s quick wit and brilliant banter, so I’m fairly certain I will read anything she writes, romance or no.
I haven’t finished reading anything else, yet, but I have picked up two more books, both for book clubs. I’ve started Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney and, so far, I’m really enjoying it! It’s a quick read and I can feel myself already getting wrapped up in the mystery. I’m also reading Love & Other Words by Christina Lauren. That’s right, two romances right at the beginning of the year! Who am I? I’m not getting on with this one as well as I did with Hibbert’s book, though 😅 It’s hard to get invested in a romance when you think the love interest is a freakin’ creep. But let me save my judgement til I actually finish it!
I’m realizing that I, a fantasy girlie, haven’t picked up any fantasy yet in 2023! I mean, we’re only seven days in, but still! I will be rectifying that soon, don’t you worry.
Great post, everyone seems to be loving
Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute definitely need to check it out 😊
