It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! This is a bookish meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words where bloggers answer the 3 Ws:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
If you’d like to learn more about any of these books, click on the cover to be taken to the Goodreads page.
Current Reads
- Malice by Heather Walker: I’ve finally started this dark fairytale retelling and I’m already invested in what happens to Alyce. This book has a lot going for it! The plot is intriguing, I’m liking the tone, and the writing is fantastic so far. I’m eager to get more into the story.
- Redemptor by Jordan Ifueko: That’s right! I’m finally reading my most anticipated book of 2021! No pressure, right? It certainly has started off with a bang and it’s great to see all this characters I love so much again. I expect I’ll tear through this one in no time, lol.
Recently Finished
- The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo: Uuuummm, this novella was incredible! And makes me want to read more by Nghi Vo! This was lyrical, mystical, and beautifully sad. I loved the characters. I could read an entire book of Rabbit telling stories, tbh. This was a breath of fresh air and I can’t wait to continue with the series!
- A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers: Two five star reads pretty much back to back and they’re both novellas! This is a sci-fi novella featuring two of my new favorite characters: a tea monk named Dex and the robot they run into in the wilderness, Mosscap. I would fight for both of them and I’ve only just met them, lol. Thankfully, this is the first book in a new series which means I get more of these amazing characters!
What’s Next
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune: That’s right, I’ll be picking up on of the most hyped books of this year next. I’m really excited to read this one as it features one of my favorite tropes: found family. Which is why I’m using it for that challenge in the Trope-ical Readathon, lol. I’m also eager to get to this because I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it!
- Fireborn by Aisling Fowler: I’m reading this one for a The Write Reads blog tour. Much like the previous book, I’ve heard nothing but great things about it! So much so that, even if I wasn’t on the tour, I would want to pick it up soon, lol. It’s a middle grade that is promising a lot of action and some ✨magic✨, so I can’t wait! Also, how beautiful is that cover, right?
