Hello, reader!

After two months of readathons, I’m back to building my TBR according to my own whims, haha. The books I’m hoping to get to in May are an eclectic mix, but I’m quickly learning that’s what I need to keep my reading mojo high. Too many of one genre in a row (even fantasy) tends to make me start to feel bored. So I’m hoping to keep it fresh this month by bouncing from fantasy to romance to horror and back again!

Blog Tour First Impressions: Soul of the Deep by Natasha Bowen

It’s time, once again, for another blog tour post. This time, it’s for one of my most anticipated reads of 2022! Soul of the Deep by Natasha Bowen is the thrilling sequel to Skin of the Sea, a book filled with stunning descriptions and Black mermaids. You can read my full review for that here. I was completely enraptured with the first book in this series, so you can imagine my excitement when I got to be on the tour for the sequel! Unfortunately, a pretty nasty head cold has slowed my reading to a near stop, but I still wanted to be able to shout about this book because what I’ve read so far has been incredible.

Fair warning: If you haven’t read Skin of the Sea, you might want to avoid reading further as there might be spoilers.

It’s time for another First Lines Friday! This is another work weekend for me after a week filled with overtime, but, happy news… I got a promotion at work! So I’m feeling a bit more optimistic about working over 7 days in a row 😂 In celebration, I want to talk about a book that I am truly enjoying at the start to this weekend. I’m reading it for a TBR & Beyond Tours book tour and absolutely tearing through it!
