It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! This is a bookish meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words where bloggers answer the 3 Ws:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Reads

The Last Human by Zack Jordan: I started on my second March ARC! So far, it’s definitely interesting. I’ve just started so there’s not much going on. There is, however, a ton of potential!

The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor: I picked this book out for the Popsugar Reading Challenge prompt that requires you to pick the first book you touch on your bookshelf. Apparently, my subconscious thinks it has been far too long since I read a proper thriller. I’m really enjoying it so far!

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu: Y’all, this book was beautiful. The descriptions! The emotions! The cover! Everything about this book was mesmerizing. I’m going to stop myself before I just ramble on for the next hour and point you towards my review if you’d like to know all my thoughts.

The Deep by Rivers Solomon: This is more of a 3.5 rounded up. I rarely give out half stars but this is one of those books that needs it. Because I’m confused about my feelings for this book, lol. It was excellent, but weird? I’m not sure… I’m still trying to wrap up my feelings so I can write my review. It’s definitely a powerful book, though.

What’s Next

Bonds of Brass by Emily Skrutskie: This is one of my most anticipated books of 2020 and I was just approved for an ARC on Netgalley! I was browsing Netgalley when I really shouldn’t be…

Ya know, as one does…

And I spotted this beauty available for request. I knew I shouldn’t cause I’m still catching up, but I figured I wouldn’t get approved anyway. And then, BAM, I got the email saying it was ready for download! I’m so excited to get started on this one 😁

So what are you reading this week? Did you do a WWW Wednesday post? Let me know in the comments!

And, as always, happy reading!

February 2020 Wrap Up

The shortest month of the year has come and gone! Though it felt like February flew by, I’m happy to be one month closer to Spring! And though I didn’t read as many books as I did in January, this was a great month for wonderful reads. I didn’t rate anything read below a four star and I read my second five star book of the year. Kicking 2020 off right!

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s jump into the wrap up 😊

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu: I won an ARC of this from BookishFirst after reading an excerpt. I’m enjoying the rest of the book as much as I enjoyed that small taste! This is the story of a young woman named Nannerl Mozart and her soon to be well known brother, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Both Nannerl and Wolfgang are musically talented, but she is still a young girl in eighteenth century Europe. She makes a wish to not be forgotten, a wish that is heard by a faerie princeling in a magical kingdom. This is part historical fiction, part fairytale and I’m absolutely loving it!

Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia: Ya’ll, I looooooved this dark, weird, funky book! It centers around a treasure hunt that is heavily influenced by the works of Edgar Allan Poe. It’s an amazing ride and I’m so glad I stumbled upon the synopsis on Goodreads. You can read my full review here.

What’s Next

The Last Human by Zack Jordan: My other March ARC that I want to read before it’s release date. This is a sci-fi that I talked about on my last WWW Wednesday and I’m excited to read it! Probably won’t be finishing it before the end of this month, but I’ll definitely have it done before the release date on March 24th.

The Deep by Rivers Solomon: I’ve been meaning to read this for MONTHS! It’s so short, I really have no excuse for why I’ve put this off for so long. So I’m picking it up next! No excuses!

Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia: This book is such a damn treat! I’ve mainly been reading this at work as my lunch break book and it’s made me late a couple of times, heh. It’s just, when I start reading, I don’t want to stop! I love the mystery, the game, the characters… this book is freakin’ wild in the best way.

After the Flood by Kassandra Montag: This book was a surprise, tbh. I read it solely because of a Booktuber’s recommendation and wasn’t sure if I would actually like. I ended up loving it! You can read my review here.

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren: I jumped on the hype train with this one and was happily swept away. This was quite literally laugh-out-loud funny and just a fun ride! You can read my thoughts in my recent mini-review post all about romances.

What’s Next

The Last Human by Zack Jordan: Time to get to my March ARCs! This is a sci-fi that follows the last human in the solar system who has to keep the fact that they are human a secret. It sounds like it’s going to be interesting.

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu: I read an excerpt of this (and won a copy!) on BookishFirst. I absolutely loved the excerpt! This is the story of Mozart (but not the Mozart you’re thinking of) and a magical kingdom and I am here. for. it.
