It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! This is a bookish meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words where bloggers answer the 3 Ws:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
If you’d like to learn more about any of these books, click on the cover to be taken to the Goodreads page.
Current Reads
- Babel or the Necessity of Violence: an Arcane History of the Oxford Translators’ Revolution by R.F. Kuang: October is the month of buddy reads and this one was at the top of my pile! I’ve had the book since it came out and it’s be difficult holding off. This is probably my number two most anticipated book of the year and now I finally get to read it! So far, I’m absolutely loving the style of the writing, which immediately puts me in mind of the world of academia. It’s probably the footnotes. I’m also loving how this is, so far, a love letter to language. Add on top of that compelling characters and an interesting alternate history and I’m in heaven.
- The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling: Here we have yet another buddy read and, y’all… if I didn’t five thousand other books to read this month, I would be done with this one already. I’ve only listened to the first nine chapters, but I am absolutely entranced! The small town setting! The witchy goodness! The witchy badness! THE TENSION! I want to gobble this book up all in one sitting, but I’m trying to be patient because I will be useless for buddy read chats if I have to remember what may and may not be a spoiler 😂 Suffice it to say, I’m having a lot of fun with this spooky romance.
