#5OnMyTBR – Title Starting With ‘D’

I’m a little embarrassed that this book is still on my to be read list. When it came out, I was so hyped to pick it up! Though fae stories are not typically my thing, this one is queer. Color me intrigued! Also, there’s a woman with a sword on the cover looking like she could murder me with a thought. What more do I need to be excited to read this? Now I just need to actually do it, haha.

Now that I’ve finally dipped my toes into Blake Crouch’s writing, I’m eager to read more. I thoroughly enjoyed Upgrade, so I want to get to more of his backlist books. Dark Matter is actually the first Blake Crouch book to end up on my TBR and yet I still haven’t picked it up. Because of who I am as a person 😂 Either way, I’m excited to read this sci-fi thriller and continue my Blake Crouch journey!

I do love when a BIPOC author takes an old classic and plays with it. That’s how The Daughter of Doctor Moreau initially ended up on my TBR. Then I saw the cover and it was over… I had to read it! Of course, it’s still chilling on the TBR because I have the attention span of a squirrel. I can and will be distracted by new and shiny things. BUT! I’m still eager to pick this one up and give it a go.

Joan He is an author that I’ve been following for awhile. Ever since I heard of Descendant of the Crane, I’ve been intrigued by her novels. And, yet, I still haven’t read any of them! This one remains on the top of my list of her books I want to read despite being the only one I don’t own, heh. But it sounds so incredible! I’m hoping to read this one soon.

Of all the books on this list, this is the one I want to read the most! This is the sequel to My Heart is a Chainsaw, which was one of the weirdest horror novels I read last year. And I loved it. I need to know what Jade gets herself into next. It’s also the newest and shiniest and I’ve already mentioned how easily distracted I am 😂 I’m hoping this is just as odd as the first book.
