#5OnMyTBR – Number in the Title

#5OnMyTBR is a bookish meme hosted by E. @ Local Bee Hunter’s Nook where you chose five books from your to-be-read pile that fit that week’s theme. If you’d like more info, head over to the announcement post!

Hello, reader!

I’m back! I feel like I’ve been away from the blog for way too long. Lots of life things getting in the way of both my reading and my blogging. Chief among those is that I got rear-ended coming home from work and my car ended up totaled 😑 It sounds a lot worse than it was, I promise! I could even drive the car home, but my insurance company was like “Nah, we’re not fixing that.” So my poor baby Escape is gone forever and I’m a sad panda. But at least I wasn’t hurt too bad (little neck strain) and the insurance company took care of me quickly!

But enough of my car woes. It’s time for another 5 On My TBR! This time, our theme is books with numbers in the title and I had quite a list from which to choose. I’ve narrowed it down to five books that I would love to read sooner rather than later. Perhaps y’all can help me pick which one to read next 😁

All that said, let’s get to the list!

#1. One for All by Lillie Lainoff

I’ve always been fascinated with the story of the Three Musketeers. So when I learned about this retelling that casts our swashbucklers as women, and the main character is a disabled woman on top of that, I instantly added it to my TBR. This sounds like it would be such an incredible read and, so far, I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I’m always here to support disability rep in books, as well!

#2. Two Wrongs Make a Right by Chloe Liese

I’m not gonna lie. I 100% added this book to my TBR because of the cover ✨drama✨. Ya know, when Tessa Bailey this cover ripped off a cover for her book and they looked nothing alike. Sigh… book Twitter is always there for me if I want a bit of manufactured rage. Anyways! Having read the synopsis now, I think this could be a romance that I love. It’s a Shakespeare retelling and that will always get my attention.

#3. The Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow

This is a short story in one of those Amazon Original Stories collection. This particular collection focuses on what can be found in the darkness. As you can imagine, that means there tends to be a lot of death involved. I’ve only read a couple of the stories, but this is the one I want to read the most! I love Alix E. Harrow’s writing and I’ve heard nothing but great things about this story.

#4. Seven Faceless Saints by M.K. Lobb

I received an ARC for this young adult fantasy and I was so excited about it! I had been hearing about this novel around the book community and I was eager to give it a read. And then I just… didn’t. I have this bad habit of trying to prioritize everything at once and, as you can imagine, that doesn’t work out well. Still, I am going to read this one soon. It just sounds like my flavor of fantasy and I’m ready!

#5. Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

Of all the books on this list, this one has probably been on my TBR the longest. And there’s really no good reason why! This dystopian sci fi is something that sounds right up my alley. I’ve heard Emily St. John Mandel’s writing is stellar, as well, and yet I keep not reading this book 😅 I think this is a case where I’ve built the book up so much in my head that I’m now scared to pick it up. I do that to myself more often than you would think…

What are some books with numbers in the title that are on your TBR? Have you read any of the books on mine? Let me know in the comments!

And, as always, happy reading!
