The Sunday Post: February 15th, 2026

The Sunday Post is a blog news meme created by @CaffeinatedReviewer! It gives you a chance to post a recap of your last week, whether that pertains to books or not. You can talk about however much (or however little) you would like.

Hello, reader!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. We had both Friday the 13th and Valentine’s Day this week so if anything it could have been eventful! My week was pretty slow, but I’m now on vacation since my youngest is off school all next week, so I’m looking forward to get some one-on-one hang out time with him. And maybe catch up on some reading ๐Ÿ‘€

Now, let’s get to the post!

Like I said, last week was pretty uneventful. Work was an absolute crap-show because we have a lot of people out and it was busy. By the end of the week, I was so ready for my vacay. Thankfully, I have a great group of co-workers who were all helping each other out during the busy week, so I didn’t want to burn the place to the ground as I was leaving on Friday ๐Ÿ˜… Still, I’m looking forward to a little break.

This weekend has been pretty eventful, though! Saturday, I spent most of the day catching up on reading and ferrying my youngest around to playdates. I did get to spend about an hour and a half browsing/reading at my local library, which I always love. I love that they are open on Saturdays during the school year, though I wish they could be year-round.

Today, I went to a Galentine’s Day get-together in the city with my best friend! There was champagne, yummy snacks, and cookie decorating of some cookies shaped like… certain body parts. I would share a picture, buuuuut they aren’t exactly appropriate ๐Ÿ˜‚ We even did a mini-boudoir shoot! It was a ton of fun with a bunch of super chill women. Look at me making adult friends! It was a good end to the week.

Hello, reader!

It’s time for another Sunday Post! This was an eventful week, in both exciting and not-so-exciting ways ๐Ÿ˜… Let’s just say, I’m looking forward to this week because it’s my last week of work before taking a week off and it’s supposed to warm up (relatively…) a bit! I cannot describe to y’all how ready I am for Spring. I was not built for this weather ๐Ÿฅถ

Anyways, let’s get to what I’ve been up to for the past week!

My eldest kid turned 19 this week! I continue to be amazed that I have an adult child despite being well into my mid-40s myself, lol. Like… is she not just a baby? What do you mean she’s one year away from being in her twenties?! Inconceivable. She was off at college on her actual birthday, but she did come down this weekend to hang with us and hometown friends. We took her out for birthday dinner of her choice and just enjoyed having her home. It was lovely ๐Ÿ’–

My husband and I also met up with friends to check out a Korean pop-up at a local sake brewery. I didn’t even know the place existed until we were invited out! You find the most random things in the suburbs of Boston, haha. The food was delicious, the sake was yummy, and the company was great. I realized as we were driving home that, after 6 years of living here, we’re finally making adult friends. The fact that we’re both homebodies who will always prefer chilling in our nice, comfy house certainly hasn’t helped matters ๐Ÿ˜‚ It’s nice to have made some friends we like enough that they can entice us from our den, haha. Besides my best friend, of course! She could tempt me out if it was below zero and snowing cause she’s family.

The not so fun event of this week was my youngest child getting sick ๐Ÿซ  He had to stay home both Thursday and Friday, which is much harder to juggle now that my husband has a full time job. Thankfully, I was able to work from home on Friday, which was nice. I get so much more admin work done when I’m not at my desk being interrupted every ten seconds with questions, lol.

A woman sitting at a desk, rubbing her eyes in exasperation with text above that reads "Accidentally became important at work and it's ruining my life."

Ah well, job security, right? And I do enjoy my job though I’ve always enjoyed actually working on the bench as opposed to piles and piles of paperwork. That probably makes more sense if you know I’m a clinical medical laboratory scientist that works in Microbiology, lol. Super interesting job, but paperwork will always suck ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hello, reader!

January is finally over and we’ve moved in the second month of the year. February always feels like it flies by too fast, but it is the shortest month of the year, so I suppose that makes sense. I’m hoping it does because I am ready for spring, y’all ๐Ÿ˜ฉ We haven’t gotten any more snow, but it has been bitterly cold and I’m over it. This is what I get for moving to New England, haha.

Now it’s time to wrap up my week in The Sunday Post! Keep reading to see what I was up to.

The biggest event of this week is the snow storm that rocked all of New England. We got almost 2 feet of snow Sunday and Monday and it was not a fun time! I had to go to work on Monday and the streets were freakin’ terrible. At least I got to go in later because a pipe burst in our building and no one could be inside until they got the water turned back on. And then it started snowing again while I was at work, so the roads were even worse when I headed home! I did end up having to stay home on Tuesday because my youngest’s school was closed due to weather.

Other than that, I really didn’t get into much this week. My husband and I sing with a local choir and we’re currently rehearsing for our Spring Concert. That was pretty much the only thing that got me out of the house besides work this week, haha. We do have plans this evening to meet up with some friends for dinner, but I’ll talk about that next Sunday!

Hello, reader!

Happy snowy Sunday, depending on where you live, haha. I was skeptical we would be getting as bad of a storm as they predicted but… well… New England is proving me wrong ๐Ÿ˜… I’m so glad I didn’t have to work today and could enjoy the snow from my cozy house. I do have to work tomorrow so wish me luck out there!

For now, though, it’s time to recap last week in my Sunday Post! Let’s catch up on what I’ve been getting into.

Ya girl was in pain this past week. I was having a lot of abdominal pain, so much so that I ended up calling out of work one day and going to urgent care. Apparently, I have a UTI ๐Ÿซ  Clearly I have not had a lot of those cause I thought there was something way worse going on, lol. No one told me a UTI could hurt so bad! Thankfully, I’m now on antibiotics and I’m feeling a lot better. I did catch up on some reading whilst I was curled up in bed with my heating pad, though. I’ve already read 7 books this month, which is one more than I read last January! I’m pretty happy about that.

I was off this weekend which meant that I got to go hangout with my best friend on Saturday. She lives in actual Boston (unlike me, living my best life out in the ‘burbs ๐Ÿ˜‚), so we don’t get to see each other nearly as much as I would like to. Like, ya know… every day. We went to yoga, had brunch at this tapas place called Barcelona with some yoga gals, and went to visit our mom (she’s pretty much adopted me at this point). Mom isn’t doing great and is currently in rehab trying to heal from a broken arm. Thankfully, my best friend has a job where she can visit almost every day, so at least mom isn’t alone. Still, I can’t wait til she’s well enough to get out of there.

Today, since we were most definitely not going anywhere, I broke out the January This Month’s Craft box! My husband got me a subscription for Christmas and it’s become a fun activity for my son and I to do together. Last month was soap making and this month is pottery! We made pinch pots (or bowls from the way the shapes turned out, lol) and are currently letting them dry before we do the decorating. I’ll make sure to share photos of the final products!

Hello, reader!

Ya girl is coming to you after a looong day at work and I am tired. Thankfully, tomorrow is a holiday and I don’t have to cover it this year, so I get to relax a wee bit. I plan to spend some of that down time reading, of course, but sleeping in is what I’m really looking forward to ๐Ÿ˜‚

Before that, it’s time for this week’s Sunday Post! I actually left the house for things other than work this past week so I have stuff to talk about, haha. Let’s jump into it.

I had a day off this week because I was working the weekend and I spent that hunting down a book. I’m participating in a read-along for the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and I had purchased the first book in 2025 in preparation. I have a bad habit of buying all the books in a series when I haven’t even cracked the first book open (looking at you, Jade City…), so I told myself that I was only going to get Dungeon Crawler Cart, just in case I ended up not being into it. Welp, I spent my Thursday tracking down the next three books in the series and I probably wouldn’t bought all of them if hardcovers weren’t so expensive! So you could say I’m liking the series, lol.

The husband and I were actually social this week, as well, and went out to karaoke with some friends from the choir group we’re in. It was at this tiny Chinese restaurant/lounge that has karaoke every Friday and Saturday night, which apparently is a thing here near Boston. I dunno, maybe it’s a thing everywhere and I just wasn’t paying attention before, lol. Either way, it was a lot of fun! There weren’t a ton of people, so we got to sing pretty much all we wanted to and, as mentioned, it was with a bunch of choir folk, so showtunes were involved. It’s also the reason I’m so tired today because we didn’t get home til midnight and I had to be up by 5:30 am๐Ÿ˜… Still, it’s nice to be social every once in awhile!

Now I’m just preparing myself mentally for the fac that we’re supposed to get snow tonight (BOO) and waiting for some comfort food. The plan for after dinner is to curl up with a book, a hot cocoa I extorted my husband into making, and my heating pad. It’s gonna be amazing ๐Ÿ’–

The Sunday Post: January 11th, 2026

Hello, reader!

Today on the blog, I’m trying out a new sort of post for my little corner of the internet. I’m always yapping about books here but not often yapping about other aspects of my life. And, yes, books take up a significant portion of my daily life, but there is more to it than just reading! Somedays. *cough*

Following that vein of thought, I’ve decided to start doing The Sunday Post created by @CaffeinatedReviewer! This is a blog news meme that gives you a chance to post a recap of your last week, whether that pertains to books or not. You can talk about however much (or however little) you would like. I do love a flexible meme. I’m excited to participate and give you all a little peek into my life beyond books!

You will soon learn through these Sunday Post that my life consists mostly of going to work, coming home, and making sure my family keeps running smoothly ๐Ÿ˜… That’s partly why I want to try to go on more adventures in 2026 because, though I do love being at home, I’m feeling the need to broaden my horizons!

That being said, the most exciting thing that got me out of the house this past week was a dentist appointment, lol. But, an activity I’m super happy to be getting back into that doesn’t involve going outside is Dungeons & Dragons! My husband and I are both fans of the game, but we haven’t had a consistent group to play with for the past few years. Finally, he had had enough (the man loves to DM) and gathered a few of our long-distance friends and family to see if they wanted to start a new campaign. Lucky us, they said yes! So we started our run of The Rime of the Frostmaiden. I made an elven wizard, a race and class I haven’t played in D&D as of yet. Well… if we’re not counting Baldur’s Gate 3. I’m excited to dive more into her character!

There was also a library run that I accomplished on Saturday cause I need some library time. I ended up checking out four new books, but I’ll be talking about those in a post later this week. Stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜‰
