February 2026 Wrap Up

Hello, reader!

We’ve entered a new month which means I need to wrap up my reading for the last one! First of all, I know February is the shortest month of the year, but it feels like it absolutely flew by. How is it already March?! Still… the faster we get to Spring, the better, so let’s freakin’ go.

February wasn’t quite as good a reading month as January, but I still had a good time. So now let me share what I read!

In February 2026, I read 7 books for 2,435 pages. Funnily enough, that’s 5 more pages than last month even though I read two less books! No DNFs this month, though there was one that I kind of wish I did… Curse my need to finish book club books.

Look at mystery/thrillers knocking fantasy out of the top spot! My genre list is a lot more colorful this month and I think that’s because I read quite a few books that could fit into multiple genres. I do love a novel that subverts expectations, so I love a genre-bender!

I love that my physical reads and my audio reads are neck-and-neck this month. I only read one digital book, which doesn’t feel great, but I’m hoping to improve that number in March. Especially since most of my Netgalley books are gonna be read via e-book (if I don’t already own it… I know, kind of defeats the point๐Ÿ˜…). But I’m hoping to keep up the good work with the audiobooks! I’m really loving them this year.

I flew too close to the sun last month with two five stars… I didn’t have a single one in February! Most of the books I read were 3.5 stars this month and that feels… okay? At least they all weren’t two stars! Still, here’s hoping January hasn’t cursed me and those five stars from last month are my only two of 2026… ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

February 2023 Wrap Up

Hello, reader!

Now that the month of March is almost over, perhaps it is time that I finally wrap up my reading from February ๐Ÿ˜‚ March has been A Month and my focus has been shot because of it. I meant to get to this post ages ago but, hey, at least I’m here now, right? Right! February was a decent reading month, though I didn’t read as much as I did in January. Still, I read a lot of books that I thoroughly enjoyed and even had a five star read!

But enough of my rambling. Let me tell you all about the books I read in Feburary!

Books Reads

  • Sacrifice by Vicky Walklate: This was my first read for the currently running blog tours for all of BBNYA’s 2022 finalists! I say this every time I read one of these books, but I can see why this made it to the final round. This was such a quick read that had me immersed in the world the author created. I loved the characters and the worldbuilding. This book certainly made me excited to pick up the next in the series! You can read my full review here. โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…
  • Finlay Donovan Is Killing It by Elle Cosimano: Here begins my binging of the Finlay Donovan series, haha. I wanted to join in on the Literally Dead Book Club discussion of the third book in the series, the pick for February, so I had to catch up! This first book was definitely my favorite in the series so far. It was fun, quirky, and charming in a way that had me completely invested in Finlay and her shenanigans. I have to give props to the audiobook narrator, Angela Dawe, because she really made the story come to life! This was a great first installment to a cozy mystery series. โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…
  • Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead by Elle Cosimano: I immediately jumped into the sequel because, ya know, I was on a timeline, lol. I enjoyed this one as well, but not as much as the first book. It was still fun and charming, but the shenanigans started to really stretch my suspension of disbelief. I think this is a concept that can only continue to get more and more unbelievable and I know it’s eventually gonna lose me because I can’t ๐Ÿ˜‚ Still, this was fast-paced, engaging and I still love Finlay and Vero to pieces. Steven can die in a fire, but those two are great! โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

February 2022 Wrap Up

Hello, reader!

I know, I know. It’s already the middle of March and I’m just now doing my February wrap up. Imma be honest with you… I apparently had a dream that I had already finished this post and it was out on the internet for all to read. Then, I started questioning myself, looked it up, and realized that my subconscious thinks I’m far more on top of things than I actually am. Really, just a snapshot of how my brain has been working this path month. Like a sloth crawling through molasses up in here *taps head*

Anyhoo! Now that I’ve realized my mistake, it’s time to go over all the wonderful books I read last month. It was a pretty incredible reading month, especially considering it’s the shortest month of the year. I read a lot of books for me and a lot of quality books, at that! So, without further ado, let’s dive right in.

Book:ย Revenge of the Beast by Jack Meggitt-Phillips

Rating:ย โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Thoughts: This was just as much fun as the first book in the series! I loved watching Ebenezer and Bethany bond even more. I also loved watching them learn more about friendship and what it is to be a ‘do-gooder’. I read this for a The Write Reads tour and you can read my full thoughts here.

Book:ย False Value by Ben Aaronovitch

Rating: โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Thoughts: Another gem in the Rivers of London series and this one finally reached the full five stars for me! I think this book really shows how much Peter has grown over the course of this series. I also loved all the tech talk and, of course, the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy references! I’m looking forward to whatever comes next.

Book:ย Noor by Nnedi Okorafor

Rating:ย โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Thoughts: Another novella by Dr. Okorafor that I truly enjoyed! I think I liked Remote Control a smidge more, but this was a great read, as well. I loved how it examines topics like misogyny and how people treat those they see as ‘other’. This was a quick, engaging read and I enjoyed discovering all its layers.

February 2021 Wrap Up

Hello, reader!

Look at me getting to my monthly wrap up before the middle of the month ๐Ÿ˜‚ One day, I’ll be a blogger that is actually on the ball. One day…

Anyways! As you can tell by the header, today I’ll be going over my reading from the month of February. Though it is the shortest month of the year, I somehow managed to read the most books I have in a long time. I got through nine books and, though that probably doesn’t seem like much, it’s a ton for me! I also rather enjoyed my reading, which is always a great thing. This is also turning into the year of the buddy read and I ain’t mad about it. But more on that later! For now, let’s get to the wrap up.

Book: Bad Habits by Flynn Meany

Rating: โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Thoughts: I read this book for a The Write Reads blog tour. This was a fun and interesting look at feminism at a Catholic boarding school. It made me legit laugh out loud, though I do wish more time had been spent showing the main character’s growth. Still, I had a good time with this one! You can read my full review here.

Book: The Darkwater Bride by Marty Ross

Rating: โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Thoughts: This was an Audible Original that I picked up awhile ago. The cover looked creepy and it has a full cast, so I was in! This ended up being… fine? Nothing spectacular, nothing terrible. It was overall pretty meh, if I’m being honest, but the full cast made it much better than it would have been if I had read this physically!

Book: The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie

Rating: โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

Thoughts: After reading The Murder of Roger Ackroyd with some of the Write Reads gang last month, I jumped at the chance to join their Hercule Poirot buddy read! The book for February was The Murder on the Links but, to catch up, I had to read this one first. I enjoyed it, though it’s not my favorite Christie. It was fun seeing Poirot in his first book appearance, though.

February 2020 Wrap Up

The shortest month of the year has come and gone! Though it felt like February flew by, I’m happy to be one month closer to Spring! And though I didn’t read as many books as I did in January, this was a great month for wonderful reads. I didn’t rate anything read below a four star and I read my second five star book of the year. Kicking 2020 off right!

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s jump into the wrap up ๐Ÿ˜Š
