Anonymous Bookaholics Book Tag
Hello, readers!
It’s been awhile since I’ve participated in a bookish tag, hasn’t it? I feel like it has been and I came across the perfect tag. Caffeinated Fae’s blog was featured as #blogoftheday by @TheWriteReads and she was doing the Anonymous Bookaholics Book Tag. I loved her answers and I loved the questions, so I decided to join in on the fun! By the way, you can find her answers here and maybe give her a follow while you’re there 😉
#1. What do you like about buying new books?
Pretty much everything, if I’m being honest. I love the smell of new books. I love flipping through the book for the first time and hearing the sound of the pages. I love looking at the title page and knowing I will be the first person to love that particular book (hopefully). It’s just such a wonderful feeling to have a beautiful new world to discover.
#2. How often do you buy new books?
At least once a month since I’m a member of Book of the Month Club. If I’m not controlling my spending, then I buy several a month. Because I have a problem. Though I suppose that’s not terrible considering some of the book hauls I’ve seen on Booktube!
#3. Bookstore or online book shopping: which do you prefer?
Most definitely bookstores! I could hang out in a bookstore for hours and never get bored. I love the smell and the ambiance and just being surrounded by all that potential. And there’s usually a cafe where I can sit and read in silence while enjoying some kind of pastry. Ugh, I live for those little moments!
#4. Do you have a favorite bookshop?
I sure do! I absolutely love Brookline Booksmith in Brookline, Massachusetts. It’s such a wonderful, indie bookstore that has a wide selection of all kinds of books. I think my favorite thing about them is that they have a used bookstore in the basement! I got a bind-up of The Chronicles of Narnia for like 7 bucks! They have fantastic author events, as well. And they give you cute store bookmarks with every purchase and, as a person who often misplaces her bookmarks, I really appreciate it.
#5. Do you pre-order books?
Honestly, I used to not pay enough attention to book releases to get in on pre-orders. I would just stumble across books in the bookstore or on Goodreads and be like “Ohhh, I want that!” In the last couple of years, though, I’ve been paying more attention and my amount of pre-orders has gone up. I tend to only pre-order books I am absolutely dying to read, so I still keep it to a minimum.
#6. Do you have a monthly buying limit?
When I’m not on a book buying ban? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, nooooo. Because I have no self-control.
Which is why I’m currently on a book buying ban 😬 Perhaps I should give myself a limit so I can still feed the need but not go as crazy as I used to. Moderation is key!
#7. How big is your wish list?
Ya know, not as many as you would think. Well… if we’re just talking about my Amazon wish list. The wish list in my head is a mile long 😂 I just want to read all the books!
#8. Which three books from your wish list do you wish to own right now?
All three of these books aren’t out yet, but I YEARN FOR THEM! I cannot wait to read all three!
If you would like to participate, consider yourself tagged! Let me know about all your book buying habits!
And, as always, happy reading!
