WWW Wednesday: May 13, 2020

It’s time for another WWW Wednesday! This is a bookish meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words where bloggers answer the 3 Ws:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

If you’d like to learn more about any of these books, click on the cover to be taken to the Goodreads page.

Currently Reads

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo: So, this book honestly wasn’t on my radar. I had heard about it and thought the premise was interesting, but I hadn’t read a book written in verse before. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it.

And then I read The Poet X by the same author and IMMEDIATELY downloaded this book so I could read it, too! I found both audiobooks on Scribd and, honestly, that is the way to go with both of them. The audiobooks are incredible! I’m not too far into Clap When You Land, but I feel like I’m going to love it just as much as The Poet X.

Disenchanted by Brianna Sugalski: This one ended up being a fun, action-packed read that I enjoyed, but didn’t love. Mostly because it was incredibly insta-lovey and that just isn’t my thing. Still, I loved the descriptions and the action and, overall, had a good time reading this. You can read my full review here!

Harrow Lake by Kat Ellis: A horror book that read like a campy 80’s horror flick! This was a creepy, atmospheric read and I really enjoyed it. You could feel the sinister vibes just oozing from the pages! You can read my full review here.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo: I read this on a whim after downloading Scribd. I had always heard that the audiobook was incredible and, dear lord, folks weren’t kidding! This was so emotional and raw and beautiful. There were tears, there was laughter… I absolutely adored this book! I’m still gathering my thoughts together on this one, but a review will be up soon.

What’s Next

Catalyst by Tracy Richardson: I’ll participating in the #TheWriteReads blog tour for this book, so I’ll definitely be picking it up next! It’s about a young woman named Marcie with some mysterious powers and it sounds like it will be a fun ride! I’m looking forward to it.
