This Week’s Question
Are any of your bookcases buckling under the weight of too many books?

Heh… feeling very called out right now 😅😂
Soooo, the two bookcases downstairs are definitely struggling right now. They’re both double stacked with some books stuffed on top and the shelves are doing their best, haha. The smaller bookcase’s middle shelf has a very pronounced bow in it that looks like it would snap if I put one more book on it. The taller bookcase has somewhat sturdier shelves, but you can still tell that there are way too many books on them. It’s gotten to the point that I, a person who clings to her books like they are part of her being, am considering doing a massive unhaul.
Mostly because I have nowhere to put books I’ve read and loved because my upstairs bookcase is dedicated to unread books only. Which is a whole different issue.
Speaking of the upstairs bookcase, it’s the most sturdy of my bookcases, so there’s no buckling in sight. But it also has a ridiculous amount of books stacked on top that would probably give those sturdy shelves a run for their money if I could actually fit them on. And that doesn’t include the stack of books taller than I am sitting behind my computer chair at this very moment. I have a problem, y’all… And that possible unhaul is sounding better and better as I type this post 😂
