WWW Wednesday

My first WWW Wednesday! This is a tag, hosted by Taking on a World of Words, in which all you have to do is answer three questions. I discovered this through The Bibliophagist’s blog and it sounded like fun. So let’s dive in!

What are you currently reading?

The Count of Monte Cristo

In an effort to read more classics, I’ve been listening to a bunch on audiobook. I’ve been listening to this one for what seems like forever, heh. It’s just so long and I keep getting distracted by other books I’d much rather be reading! That being said, it’s pretty entertaining once I get into it.

The Bone Ships

One of my Netgalley backlist books that I’m currently trying to get through. I’ve only read the first few pages and haven’t really had a chance to get into the story. I’ll probably start over here soon so that I can give it the attention it deserves. From what I’ve read, it’s going to be a thrilling ride!

Doctor Sleep

I’m embarrassed to say that I only recently found out that this is the sequel to The Shining. The Shining is one of my favorite Stephen King books (and movies!) so I felt like I had to give this a try. I’m listening to this one on audiobook, as well.

Warrior of the Altaii

I picked this up on a whim at the library because I read most of the Wheel of the Time series forever ago and I was curious about the book Jordan wrote before that series. I’m having a hard time getting into it, though it’s definitely got a lot of action.

What did you recently finish reading?

My Lady’s Choosing: An Interactive Romance Novel

I read this one to complete one of the prompts for the 2019 Popsugar Reading Challenge. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure romance novel and it was HILARIOUS! There were so many times I burst out laughing. I read more than one scene to my husband so he could lose it along with me! Definitely a fun book.

The Chestnut Man

I read this one as part of a Goodreads book club and it was certainly a page-turner. Not a huge fan of how women are portrayed in this book or the way this author writes about sex. Kind of left me feeling slimy… A good thriller, otherwise.

Magic for Liars

I actually won an ARC of this book in a giveaway put on by Tor.com and was so excited! I enjoyed it, though not as much as I had thought I would. Still, a solid book with an interesting premise.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The Starless Sea

Erin Morgenstern is one of my all time favorite authors, so you know I picked this baby up as soon as it was out! I actually went to a book signing and got to listen to her read an excerpt from the book. I’m fairly certain I’m going to fall in love.

And done! My first WWW Wednesday is now complete. Have you read any of these books? What are your thoughts on them? What book are you most excited to pick up next?

Thanks for checking out my baby blog! And happy reading!
