The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
Honestly, I’m such a mood reader that I don’t really gravitate toward any one genre in any season. These are the usual points I’ll run through when picking a new book to read:
- What am I in the mood for? Something sad, something fantastical, something atmospheric?
- Are there any ARCs that I have that are being published soon?
- Do I have a book on my TBR by one of my favorite authors?
- Is there a book that I’m particularly excited for?
I usually just stand and stare at my bookshelf as I run through this points in my head, mumbling to myself and generally looking like a weirdo. I’ll take a couple books off the shelf, read the synopsis, but them back, repeat until I finally find something that strikes my fancy. Then it gets moved to the bedside table for quick and easy access!
I will say, though, that there is one season where I do get into a mood to read a certain kind of book: SPOOKY SEASON! Then all I want to read are creepy, gothic tales with ghosts and demons.
