The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Crazy-For-Books and is currently being hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. Every Friday, a new question is posted for book bloggers to answer in the coming week. The purpose of the hop is connection and community. You can discover new blogs to follow, new books to read, and you may end up with some new followers, as well!
This Week’s Question
I’m actually participating in a few reading challenges in 2020! The first one is the Popsugar Reading Challenge. I participated in this last year, though I kind of lost track halfway through 2019. I think having a blog will help me keep track much easier this year. My thing is that, if I try to make a list of books to match all the prompts, I can guarantee that I will lose interest in at least half the books by the time I get to them. I’m such a mood reader that following a TBR is a real challenge for me! That’s why I’ve decided that, in 2020, I’m going to read what I’m feeling and match it with the challenges as I go. I’m sure by the end of the year, I’ll have to make a more pointed list to catch all the prompts, but I’m just wingin’ it for now!
I’m also planning on trying my hand at the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge. I’ve never participated in this challenge before, but I’m absolutely living for the prompts! A few of my favorites include Read a food book about a cuisine you’ve never tried before, Read a mystery where the victim(s) is not a woman, and Read a play by an author of color and/or queer author. I love to be pushed to read something new. I’ve found some of my favorite books reading something that I would never have picked up without some push. Again, I’ll be winging it with this one, though the Book Riot website has a lot of articles with fantastic suggestions!
I’ll also looking at doing readathons throughout the year, though the only one I’ve committed to so far is the #StartOnYourShelfathon. If you’d like to check it out, head over to The Quiet Pond. I’m sure I’ll run into more readathons that sound interesting as the year progresses, but I’m also trying not to go too crazy with them, either.
Are you participating in any reading challenges this year? How about readathons? Tell me about them in the comments!
And, as always, happy reading!
